The opening Regional Motocross event received a boost from the Springbok and multiple 4-decade National Motocross Champion Ryan Hunt Sales Director of Tork Craft a leading brand in the Vermont Sales company, who assisted in promoting the event.
“The success of this event was certainly not all from Tork Craft’s assistance, the organizers, local community, MXSA, local sponsors and the local radio station 906FM all came to the party,” said Ryan Hunt. “Our brief was to help get the locals excited about their event and get them to attend the race meeting, so we worked with the 906FM on the radio ad program, and tired up the interviews, and helped with the PR.”
The result was organizers got their largest rider entry across all the classes, which was excellent, but it was also thanks to it being the opening round of the season, and all riders and teams were out to test their new machines in preparation for the 1st National MX race in PE this month
An overnight rain storm was a bonus for the organizers as the track was perfect for the days racing, organizers got a record number of spectators, who certainly got their monies worth with wall to wall action in all the classes.
The top teams and riders all made an appearance on the day to race and to practice ahead of the PE National. Dalton and Lucas Venter, Nathan Maybery and Jordan van Wyk, Husqvarna Racing were all there with their new 2018 machine, Along with Matthew Malan, Jason Visser from the Red Bull KTM team plus key riders Kerim Fitz-Gerald, Jonathan and Joshua Mlimi, Camden and Nate Mc Lellan, Tintswalo Out of Africa Yamaha, Tristan Purdon, David Goosen.
One of the star performances of the day came in the lady’s race with young Kayla Raaff winning the ladies race and beating out most of the Support class riders in the process. She will be on fire at the 2018 1st national.
