Superhatch Entry Bonanza

Organizers expect some very competitive racing in round 2 of the AutObarn SuperHatch Series at the Zwartkops Raceway on Saturday the 17th of March, with the organizers announcing their largest entry in the A Class, plus a further boost of a number of new teams and drivers in class B and C.

“The increased entries are certainly going to make a difference to SuperHatch racing especially for race fans, more cars always add to the excitement and action, for the drivers it’s a bigger and much harder challenge, with the current SuperHatch rules,” said Brett Garland AutObarn Total Sabat Ingco Tools Honda.

“Yes, the rules make for better racing for the spectators, but a much tougher job for the top teams and drivers. We will however be going all out to repeat our first-round success and try and get a good strong start to the season and build a solid points lead early in the season, the car is really performing well and the make over and new life we put into the car in the break has paid off so far. Round 2 will be another good test for the car, as will the additional new class entries,” said Garland.

The AutObarn Total Sabat Ingco Tools team is prepared for the strong challenge from Werner Pieterse Scaner Sun Golf, last year’s overall AutObarn SuperHatch winner Nic Martin RDG Opel Kadett, Louis Scholtz Car Clinic Honda, Zane van Zyl Credit Guarantee Golf and Andre Dannhauser Pro Auto Rubber Corsa. There are also several new entries that could create some new challenges in Round 2 which will only be revealed on race day.

“Zwartkops Raceway is a very popular circuit with the teams and drivers and all of them like and seem to perform well at this track, to me its my home track so another double win is crucial for me,” said Brett Garland. As I mentioned this year we need to take both the class and the overall win and make every point count.”
